I love the fall. I think it’s the prettiest season, with all the colors changing slowly and the weather is the prettiest. Here we are, sitting at the beginning of November, and in Lubbock, Texas the weather still feels like it’s summertime some days. I’m in no way ready for the cold snowy weather that will be here next month, but I was expecting it to be a little cooler here by now. Some days, it’s freezing and I go outside wearing long sleeves and a sweater, and then by one it’s hot outside. Other days, I swear shorts and when the sun goes down the weather turns to freezing. I understand that is a big part of living in West Texas, the weather can never make up it’s mind. But last Saturday was annoying. We went to the Texas Tech football game that was scheduled to start at 2 around noon. We got there, it was chilly, I had grabbed a scarf and an extra sweater for later on during the day. By halftime I was sweating and wishing I could take all my clothes off. I came home, and actually had a sun burn on the side of my face. It’s hard to know what to bring to an outing when you know you wont be back for several hours and the weather can just do anything during that time. Today was perfect, pretty warm during the day time and sunny, but right now, and with the time change, the sun is slowly starting to set and it’s cooled off quite a bit. West Texas may be pretty unpredictable, but I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
