Why is painting such a pain in the ass? Not like painting pretty pictures… that’s actually fun! I’m a really creative person and love all arts and crafts but when it comes to painting a wall, count me out. It’s so damn complicated. First, you have to move all the furniture to the middle of the room and cover it with plastic wrap or tarps. Then, you have to tape the edge of the molding which is so time consuming! After taping, it’s time to cover the floor and get all your painting supplies ready. I’ve done this a few times and don’t think I’ve ever managed to not get paint on the carpet. It sucks! No matter how neat and organized everything is, a little bit of paint always manages to get away, staining the carpet. After multiple failed painting attempts, I decided to hire someone to do my daughter’s nursery. I called around and got the best price. Some guy said he’d do it for 50 bucks! That sounded amazing compared to the 200 and 150 dollar quotes I’d been getting so he definitely had the job. Well, as it turn out, I wish I would have paid more money because this guy sucked worse than I did. There was paint everywhere! On the carpet, the molding, even the door! Good thing I was pregnant and high on hormones or I would have thrown a fit. I think I was just too excited that her room was coming further along to say anything. When we moved out, I again hired someone to paint the room back to its original color so that we could get our deposit back. This time, I paid a little more money and the guy did a great job. Guess painting isn’t for everyone!
