Ever since I graduated from college, I’ve wanted to get a gym membership. When I went to Tech, we had an awesome rec center. There are TVs on every machine in the entire building, they have an indoor track, a huge pool, a rock climbing wall, a circuit room, just about anything someone could want in a gym. So, I was used to having that any time I needed it, and I worked out there about 5 times a week. Now, I don’t have that. And that is too expensive for me. So, I’ve been shopping around, seeing what I have to choose from. In Lubbock, Body Works is a popular gym that has a lot of locations. But, they require a contract. I’m not interested in one, because I’ve heard they really screw you over. And, they are insanely annoying. They get commission, and as soon as you contact them you will never hear the end of it until you either sign up or change your phone number. The boxing gym here charges around 80 bucks a month, depending on how many months you sign up for, and that doesn’t need further explanation. So, I found Freedom Fitness. It’s on 19th and Quaker, they charge 19.95 a month with a 5 dollar enrollment fee, and that includes tanning, 24 hour gym entry, one guest per day EVERYDAY, and no contact. You can also do 9.95 a month no contract, that has a higher enrollment fee and no tanning. So, I think I’ve found the gym. It’s nice, too. I don’t know how a gym out there thinks they have to do things so difficult when it’s obvious that this place is making money and isn’t robbing their customers.
