Growing up I always figured that when I was older I wouldn’t object to getting a boob job. I don’t have an opinion on the morality of plastic surgery one way or another. If someone feels like they need to pay thousands of dollars to be physically altered for no medical purpose, that’s their decision. I’m not one to judge whats should or shouldn’t be important to someone else. Now, if a person is disfigured to the point that they are incapable of living a normal, healthy life, I would say that plastic surgery would for sure the best course of action for them. Hands down. Personally, I think I have moved away from wanting to “enhanced” myself. I have gotten comfortable with my body and physical appearance. The last thing I need when I running or rock climbing is extra boob bouncing around. Usually fake parts look fake, no matter how nicely they are constructed. I think the media has convinced most of us that fake is the best way for a woman’s body to look. Fake is an impossible expectation to live up to. It would be nice if there were more companies like Dove out there that promoted women looking like real women, but unfortunately, that’s just not the way things work for the most of the time, so I can see why plastic surgery looks like such a good idea to so many people. It’s hard to remain confident when you are constantly being bombarded by images of what the ideal body is supposed to look like. So, if you need plastic surgery to help you feel up to par, by all means, go get it, but just remember that it’s not up to the media to tell you how you need to look. All they care is that they sold you on whatever they are selling.
