That strange addicting game that I’ve been playing on Myspace is getting worse. Right now, there are three cities that you can go to and “master”, New York, Moscow, and Cuba. I finally finished New York a few weeks ago, which is definitely the longest city. It’s the first one, and when I started playing the game Cuba and Moscow didn’t even exist. When ever you finally finish that stage, they give you two energy in the time that it used to take to just get one. So, doing that state first makes it easier to get all the other ones done. I’m going to be done with Cuba in a few days, and then move on to Moscow, but I know that I will never be done. The game is never going to end, because they are already coming out with two new cities this holiday season. I think that the best thing for me to do would be to just stop playing the game all together, because each time I finish something and feel complete they add something new so I have to keep going. I stopped for a few months, and when I went back to see what was going on with the game I wished I hadn’t because I felt like I was so far behind. Maybe when I finish the three they have now, I wont let myself start the other ones and then I’ll just stop doing the game and say I conquered it. We’ll see how that works out for me…

So, before I left on my amazing exciting trip to Ft. Worth to see my sister and the Red Raiders play at the Dallas Cowboys stadium, my cousin and I decided to make a stop and Bonzi, the sushi place that I’m always talking about. He had never been, and we hadn’t eaten dinner yet, so I told him we should go ahead and make a stop even though we were only an hour into our 7 hour drive. So, we googled it, got the address, and entered it into the GPS because I didn’t know how tog et there on my own. It gave us a number, and my cousin called it before we got there to make sure they were open. Instead of them answering and saying “Bonzii”, they said some other name, like about a kings palace or something. We went to the address given anyway, only to find out they Bonzi is no longer there. It’s been replaced, and I don’t even know what to think. It is still a sushi place, but they weren’t open yet so I couldn’t try it to see if it was the same place with just a different name. So, not a good start to the trip. Now, I’m going to have to make a special trip to Canyon to make sure that it is the same people that own the new named restaurant, or I’m going to have to find a new place to eat. I really hope they just thought the new name would help with business and have the same food, or I’m going to be devastated.

In my family, it’s really common for us to go “get a coke” any time we leave the house. When I was in high school, if I was going to go ride around with a boy on a date, we would always go get a coke as well. Just going to talk with my grandma or my sister or any of my friends, that’s just what we did. I’ve done really well with not drinking as many cokes, but I still like to drive through Sonic or where ever to get a drink, just because I’m so used to it. So, lately, I have been driving through sonic and getting an iced tea or a diet Dr. Pepper with cherry. I’m slowly weaning off caffeine still, but I don’t get the head aches anymore and I don’t crave them all the time like I used to. I used to correlate certain foods with the need of a soda, like Taco Bell and Pizza meals need a Pepsi with it, and McDonald’s needs a Coke with it, and now I can have those foods and not think that I really need to get a soda. I can drink milk with them if I am at home, or water if I am in the restaurant. It has also been a decent money saver for me, because when I drive through or go out to eat somewhere I can cut off a buck or two on my final bill. It’s been hard, but I think it’s definitely been worth it.

Fox must put something into it’s dramas. I don’t watch a ton of TV, but when I first moved back here to Lubbock I didn’t have a lot going on so I watched lots of the stuff. I used to be really into House, but when I moved into a TV free zone, I eventually just forgot about it. There was a while when I would use my laptop to watch it on Hulu, but I eventually weened myself off of House and took up healthy activities to fill the void. I liked that I didn’t ever watch TV. Made me feel like some sort of elitist. But THEN, I moved back here where TV is just running amok and Fox was able to drag me back into the dark side. I just can’t resist House or The Simpsons. Lie To Me can capture me for an hour if I let it get close and Glee looks like something I might like. I’m not as bad as some people I know who get bent out of shape if they don’t get to see their show, but man, I just can’t seem to stop myself once I get started. I don’t like it. Coffee is the only addiction I’ve ever had and I feel bad enough about that. I don’t need to be addicted to a raving, ranting, mean, confused, psychotic, tall, handsome doctor. The bad thing about addictions is that you can’t chose which ones you want. As far as addictions go though, I guess I’m lucky to just be stuck with House and coffee.

I have a very powerful weakness for shoes. Shoes can sometimes steal my entire paycheck. I have gotten a lot better and making myself wait before just buying a pair that I like. I used to just go to the mall and buy a pair of new shoes every time. I just love the way heels feel and look and that I can get any color to match exactly the outfit I want them to. It started my freshman year of high school, with my first pair of black stilettos. To this day, they are still my favorite shoes. All you have to do is take care of them, and replace the tips, and you can keep them for years. I have never cared about comfort, just looks when it comes to shoes. I have the worst weakness when it comes to black heels. I have several pairs of black heels, but it seems to make sense that I would only need one. But, I find them and I want them, so I get them. I go through phases where I wear a certain pair for awhile when I need black ones, and then I remember another pair that I have and I decide to wear them. My most recent shoe purchase is a pair of really cute lime green heels. It’s hard to find an outfit that goes well with them, but when I tried them on I had to have them. I’ve worn them twice, so I think they are worth the purchase so far. My closet is overflowing, and I hope my feet never grow!

There are tons of different foods out there that can be considered addicting. I have a hard time only eating one Oreo… well I have a hard time only eating ten Oreos. I can’t turn down a Slim Jim. They always say it’s impossible to have only one Lays… and, “One you pop you can’t stop” with Pringles. But, I think one of the worst things that I can’t stop eating once I start are Sunflower seeds. I can’t stop eating them until either I’m done with the bag, or my mouth is so cut up from the shells and the salt is burning me that it hurts too bad to eat anymore. I have always loved them, back when I was young I like to eat them whole, with the shell and all. I don’t really think you’re supposed to do that a lot so I’ve since stopped, but I can eat an entire back of seeds in oen sitting if I don’t stop myself. I like to have them when I’m doing homework or something else monotonous, and I always have a bag in the car when I’m driving somewhere far away. It’s a good way to pass time, and though they are pretty fatty they are usually a better substitute for most snacks. I remember how frustrating it was when I got braces, because they would stick in my teeth so bad. So, that’s yet another weakness of mine. And I can admit, I’d rather let myself eat a whole bag of sunflower seeds than a whole thing of Oreos.

I just watched a short segment on CNN about a young girl that texts all the time. Just like all people do these days. They showed her phone bill and it said that she sends around eight thousand texts a month. Now, I’ve never looked at my own text messages on my phone bill, but I don’t think I can send that many. It’s just a normal form of communication now that everyone does all the time, because it’s faster than making a phone call and you can do it at any time. So, they told the girl to give up texting for a week, and suddenly she was getting better grades in school, talking with her friends and family more, and even sleeping better. Blah blah blah. I don’t think text messaging is going to really interfere with your life that much. If you’re losing sleep because of your text messaging, that’s a pretty big problem and maybe you should quit for more than a week. I really don’t think texting would some how cause your grades to suffer, maybe she’s just stupid with or with out the phone. They are trying to make something out of nothing. I can agree that it’s taking over person to person interactions, but I don’t think it’s making this extent of a problem in people’s lives. If any thing is actually causing problem in your sleep, grades, or relationships, whether it’s a cell phone or anything, I think you should make yourself limit your use.
