Last night as I was driving home, some ass hole pulled out in front of my. Now, this isn’t a rare occurrence in Lubbock because no one here knows how to drive, but this instance really made me mad. I was on a curve right by my apartment, going a little under the speed limit because it was drizzling. Now, it had snowed earlier and the night before it had frozen. So, when he pulled out in front of me I was not looking forward to slamming my breaks down. I’m from somewhere where the roads freeze a lot during the winter and I know how to drive on them. Luckily, it was early enough in the day that the rain had not frozen over yet, but if it had, we would have gotten into a really bad accident. People from the south who don’t know how to drive: stay at home, or figure it out. You don’t take chances like you do on normal roads when it’s icy. If you aren’t absolutely positive that you are going to make it with no chance of accident, then just wait the 15 seconds for the car to go by and try again after that. If you’re in that big of a hurry, do you think getting into an accident is going to get you there faster than waiting a few seconds to go? Nope. So, everyone just needs to think a little lower when driving on the ice, and we can all be safe and get where were going with out having to make a stop at the hospital on the way.

I have dreams all the time that I remember. I know that everyone dreams, but I think that since I’m such a light sleeper I remember them more easily than most, because a lot of the time I wake up right after I have one. Nightmares are the worst for me, I always wake up right after I have one and then I can never get back to sleep. So, lately, I have been having the same dream and remembering it. It’s a little varied each night, but it’s the same general idea. My friend Carla has some man that has been hiding outside her house, and he’s homeless. She knows this, and each time I have the dream she decides to let him come live in her house with him, kind of like a pet. Most of the times, he just lives there and creeps me out, and I tell her it’s a really bad idea to let him in. Then, I wake up. I feel creeped out, but that it. Then, the other night I had the same dream, but in it I saw that he was like biting her and acting like a dog. I called the cops, and told them, and she got really, really pissed at me for ratting him out because she wanted to keep him. Now, I’m a big believer that dreams are random and don’t mean anything, but why would I keep on having the same weird random dream? I don’t know at all, but I think it has something to do with the fact that I’m talking about it a lot and thinking about it a lot, so it’s just in my head more. I don’t know, but I really hope it’s not correlated with something in the real world that’s going to happen… because if she had a man as a pet, I don’t know if we’d stay friends. Unless he was a nice pet.

If living in a rich community with tons of rich neighbors in California is anything like Desperate House Wives, then you can count me out. I love the show, it’s dramatic and funny, but if women can really be this nosey and gross then I don’t want to be any where around them. These woman are constantly cheating on their husbands with the pool boys, being nosey in their friends lives, and treating their kids like they’re not their own. I would imagine that this show is over dramatizing how the life really is for people living the same way, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of this drama was actually going down. I would imagine that the life of a celebrity could be some what compared to this. You never know who your true friends are, and any time you want to just talk to someone about your life then you have to deal with the constant fear of whether or not they are going to tell other people. There are tons of occurrences where people get information from their “friends” who are celebrities, and then sell the stories off to make money for themselves with out even a second though to the feelings of the other person. The women on this show seem like that, and I would never be happy if those were the only friends I could have. I think I’ll stick with the few friends I’ve had my whole life, and live in a normal neighborhood with them away from all the drama, no matter how big the house or how hot the pool boy is.

Everyone always wants to know why they stay so sick all of the time here in Lubbock. Well have you actually taken a really good look at our weather paterns. If your a native to Lubbock most always you are used to the weather changes that come with the territory, but if your not a native of Lubbock it is a very good possibility that you are becoming more and more sick. I pulled our weather from last week and looked at our highs for the week and of course we have days of high sixties were we are standing in warm sunshine and the only hint of cold is in the shade. I think I have taken my two year old to the doctor more times than I can count because of the weather. I know that she is a native to Lubbock but because she is just two her immune system isnt used to the troublesome issues of weather change. I still get sick in this weather and so does my husband. Sometimes I wish I lived somwhere that the weather predictions were right on target. Is there such place? Sometimes I wonder how people in Minnesota and places like that handle the weather, are they always sick or do they have a set weather pattern that lets them prepare for the issues to come. Its never the same here and sometimes I wish it would be for the simple fact that maybe I could be a little more prepared for the issues that come with climate changes. I envy anyone that lives in a predictable town that can prepare for the weather changes.

I am the oldest of three children and because of that I get into more arguments with m siblings than anyone I know. My sister is the kind that was always pretty and popular and had whatever she wanted and needed handed to her. My brother is head strong, and opinionated, and above all gay. There are issues between all of us. I became pregnant with my daughter when my sister was eighteen and in high school. By the time my daughter was born my sister was pregnant with my niece. The reason was because the attention was no longer on her. What a reason to get pregnant right? We all had the feeling that this was the reason why. Then she became a step mom to her boyfriend, now husband’s previous child. I’m not saying she is a bad mom but she does pawn her child off on other people in order to continue the teenage newly married lifestyle. I keep my niece once a month because that is the only way I can see her unless I want to travel to the town she lives in. My husband thinks she takes advantage of me but I really love my niece. My brother to me doesn’t have many flaws except he doesn’t help much around the house. It’s to be expected however with a young man living his dream. He will soon be headed back to New York where he feels at his best, because that is what he calls home.

When I was under ten years old, I remember taking those long car rides, and getting upset that my parents wouldn’t let me turn on the lights in the back seat so I could keep reading. When ever we went on trips, reading always made the drive seem quicker, and I’d get to finish a lot of books that I had been wanting to. It was a good way to pass time, and I loved it and didn’t mind sitting in the car. Then, when I turned about 15, something awful happened. I started to get severely car sick. I wouldn’t be able to read a page in my book with out almost throwing up, so I’d have to take breaks when reading. It sucked, but I could still pull it off. A few years later, no more reading. Looking out the window was my best bet at not getting sick. No more reading at all, and just looking down at my cell phone would make me get dizzy. I had to take Dramamine to be able to be in the car anymore, which knocks you out. Now, without the medicine I can’t even be in the car for very long unless I’m driving. I don’t know how I went from reading books all the time in the car to not even being able to text someone from the passenger seat. It sucks. My mom gets car sick easily too, and I think I just got it from her. Car trips sucks now, I’m either the one driving or passed out in the back seat from the medicine.

People get illnesses all the time that suck. No one likes to feel like shit. Coughing all the time is annoying; having a runny nose is just gross. I think that colds all around are just awful. But, I think that the worst part of a cold, that doesn’t happen all the time, is when you get an ear infection with it. Ear infections are my least favorite parts of being ill. Every time I get one, I lose all my balance and can no longer even walk. When I try to get up out of bed in the dark, I fall over and get hurt. And, I have an issue with picking at things. So, it can’t just be an ear infection, it has to turn into a scabbed and bloody ear infection that last for a month or more. If I would just leave it alone, maybe get some ear drops, I know it’d heal up. But, I just can’t leave it alone. It’s the same way with other cuts on my body, I have to keep picking and picking until they eventually turn into a scar, and the healing time is tripled when compared to just leaving it alone and letting my body heal. I’ve been sick lately with strep throat, and along with that I got an ear infection in my left ear. The strep is gone because of the antibiotics, but the ear infection stay because I wont leave it alone. It’s the worst!

Well I didn’t think that my brother had any flaws but I am beginning to reconsider. Today we were asked by my mom for something specific. She needed us to help her get the dogs out and feed them. It was a simple request considering she has small dogs. My brother however smarted off and said that he shouldn’t have to because it is not his dogs. Really I thought? Mom pays for his cell phone bill, cigarettes, gives him some spending money when he needed it to go out, and she also pays his credit card. Technically the jerk gets to live rent free and continues to have all of his things done for him. I live with my mom and I pay rent for me and my husband, pay for groceries, and still cover all of my bills that come in. It makes me absolutely furious to have to deal with those smart comments all of the time. I do all of the chores that I had when I did live at home and have even picked up more and my husband picked up chores when we moved in as well. He sleeps constantly all day and continues to pull the same routine. Goes out with his friend and then comes home to sleep all day. When I start cooking dinner He gets up and comes and eats the dinner I just made for my mom, and husband who work all day, I and my daughter. I really get infuriated considering he wasn’t up to help all day long not do dishes or even help get the food prepared for the meal we are having. It all just makes me extremely mad.

I continuously feel out of place at my in laws. It does not matter how much I try to get along I always feel out of place. I don’t know if it is my anxiety that kicks in and I just don’t want to be around anyone or if it’s really so bad and I haven’t been backed up forever by my husband. What could really be the issue? I go over expecting to have a great time and sometimes I do and sometimes things are not so great and I immediately just want to go home. I feel like I am judged constantly by his family and I always feel as though they think he should have had someone else in his life. We have been married for almost seven years and that is personally along time to feel out of place. My sister in law acts as though it disgusts her to even have spoken to me at times and then other times she is fine with me. His aunt will only speak to me if it is about children and even at that they talk very little. When people leave they make sure to hug my husband and my child but do they hug me no not at all they bypass me. How would that make you feel if you had to go through something like that not just once or twice but every single time you go? It happens all the time the same thing and I am not really sure what I have ever done to them except borrow their washing machine to do a couple loads of laundry. Then again there is always a price you have to pay when you get married to the person you love.

Does anyone ever act as though they don’t want you around because they do not like the way your child acts? Why is it that the most annoying people about the situation are your family members? My two year old can be loud and rambunctious at times but I do pride myself on the way she acts in public. I was raised to behave in public whether I always behaved at home. In turn I raised my child the same way. When we get over to a family members house everything is fine they are happy to see her and act as though they haven’t seen her in years. Let’s take last night for example being Thanksgiving the whole family was around. We arrive and again the whole family is excited to see her. Two hours later they are yelling at her for typical two year old things. She was trying to play with an animal and instead of playing with the ball in front of the animal she hit him to get his attention. Oh hell Katie bard the door because here comes big mean sister mad at the fact she thought she was being mean. Really my child has never been mean to an animal since she was very small and learning how to treat an animal. The next thing I know a grown thirty year old woman tells my child that she needs to stay out of her room if she is going to do things like that. Really you want to put your two cents in about raising my child but you’re going to scream at her instead of teaching her that her action was wrong. Where do people get off screaming at my child including family? Infuriation flew all over me as I began to boil I decided to tell my husband it was time to go. Where does he get off not defending our daughter against his own sister? No more visitations is what I think if things are going to continue to happen like this.
