Gift Ideas for Women

- Author: Greg Christmas

Since I’m having such a hard time figuring out what I want for Christmas, I got on the internet the other day and did some researching about what’s cool for girls to get right now. I went to best buy and looked at everything they had listed for women and some of them I think are unnecessary. They have a wine chilled that holds only one bottle, but you can adjust the temperature. This is one of those gifts that you give someone because you think it’s cool, but no one is going to use it. No one is going to just keep one bottle of wine chilled in it and have it plugged in all the time, and no one is going to remember in advance to plug the thing in hours in advance when they want to drink it. Just put it in the fridge, or get someone a wine chiller that holds more than one bottle. They have these new digital readers, where you can download books off the internet and then have them on the little palm reader. This is cool, but I don’t know if I want to give up my actually, tangible books. I love having books, and lending them to people when they’re good. If everyone has them some day, and it’s easy to transfer books, then maybe I’ll get one. For now, I’ll stick to my paper. They listed GPS, which is something I’d like, and a bunch of cameras, which I don’t need, and MP3 players, that I already have. So, I’m still stuck in the same place of not knowing what I want, but now I have a few more added options that I need to narrow down!

Vickie’s Fashion Show!

- Author: Greg TV

Tonight on CBS is the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show! I am very excited because I like to see some of the new things they are going to have out for the season, as are most of the women in the country, and my boyfriend and all the other men in the country are excited for other reasons I’m sure. I’ve been hearing about it all day on the radio, on TV, and it’s the first thing my boyfriend said when he came in the door. A lot of people were saying it’s one of those things that always get you in trouble. Your girl friend wants to watch it, so she makes you, and by you watching it with her she gets mad at you. I always love seeing the Diamond bra that they have every year, and I really, really want to wear it some time. That’s just one of those dreams that I know will never happen, but hey, at least I can still talk about it and envision it! So, tonight I get to sit around, eat some delicious stew, wait for it to snow, and watch a bunch of women walk around on a stage in their underwear. Looks like it’s going to be a great evening for anyone else in the world who has the same plans as me. Enjoy!

Outfits Make the Mood

- Author: Greg Women

Outfits can really change the mood of what you’re doing. Men are not going to agree with me on this one, but what I’m wearing and what I’m doing can change the mood I’m in. If I decide that I want to make plans to have a fast dinner with some friends, last minute, and I have to rush to get ready, or even if I don’t have time to change or get ready at all, then I’m not going to be looking my best. The feeling of that meal is going to be different when compared to a meal, even at the same place, that I took my time and relaxed and got ready to go to. If I’m eating at any restaurant but I’m dressed up, it’s going to feel like a nicer dinner than if I was wearing athletic clothes. The same goes with working out. Most of the time, I just go to the gym in ugly clothes with no make up and my hair in a messy bun. If I decide that I want to put on cuter working out clothes, and maybe put my hair up in a nicer pony tail to where it’s not sticking out everywhere, I feel better about the work out. Men wont get this, but it’s true. If you look cute when you’re doing something, then you just feel better doing it. If I look cute, I want to go more. If I look like shit, I don’t’ want people to see me, so I don’t feel good about going. It’s just one of those women things that men can’t relate to, but it’s so true!

Smell

- Author: Greg Strange

I have an extremely sensitive sense of smell. Since I was little I have always been able to smell things that no one else around noticed. Sometimes it can be good, but a lot of times it can be annoying. Like, at the gym. I don’t want to be able to smell everything around me when I’m at the gym with a bunch of random people I don’t know. I can also smell people distinctly. Everyone has their own smells, and sometimes they are attractive to me and sometimes they are not. It’s said that the way our pheromones work and are made are from evolution, to help us not mate with those who are related to us. I have to agree with this, because the way that my brother smells is very distinct to me and I don’t care for it. I can’t even share a pillow with him because the smell is so distinct. I also recall things from smells. If I smell a certain perfume on someone, any time I smell that perfume I can remember who else wears it. So, in my case, less is more. When someone comes around that has a ton on it drives me insane because that’s all I can smell. If you stink bad enough to where you need to cover yourself in some kind of spray, then maybe you should just shower and start from scratch. A little soap goes a long way for someone who can smell like me, and I’d rather someone wore nothing than covered themselves in sprays.

A Trim is not a Cut!

- Author: Greg Hair

I have been trying to grow my hair out for a few months now, and one of the best ways to help that is to get regular trims. That seems counter productive, but it actually helps in keeping your hair healthy so it wont split and break off. Well, it seems like every time I go and I tell them to cut off the smallest amount necessary, they always over do it. I say, “just cut off the dead ends” and they cut off like three inches. I think it’s because they are continuously trying to straighten it out and they keep cutting more, but I always leave disappointed and then I don’t want to go back. If I’m trying to grow my hair out, and then every time I go into the salon to help that, and they ruin all the past few months of length, it’s hard to want to go back and keep up with the trimming. The last time I went and got a hair cut was in July. Which is really, really bad. You’re supposed to get a trim around every six weeks, which no one really follows, but waiting 16 weeks is a little out of hand. I’m surprised that my hair isn’t breaking off and falling out. So, today I think I am going to make an appointment and give it another try. I just hope they don’t decide to cut off what ever they want instead of listening to me and just giving me a trim.

Glass Ceiling

- Author: Megan Women

I don’t know about the rest of the women out there, but I l like the glass ceiling. I feel like it’s my job to hold it up for all of those big smart men to walk around on. That is an important job. If it weren’t for us women, how would those big smart men be able to walk around up there and make all of that money to support our babies and ourselves? Those crazy ladies who strive to walk around up there are just out of their little minds. Our little woman brains can’t handle all of that information and stress. It’s best to just stay where we belong and make sure the glass ceiling stay clean and clear. What kind of woman wants to give up her role as a stay at home whatever to go make her own money and do important man things? That’s just lunacy!
I hope the sarcasm of that paragraph was conveyed. If you actually believed me, I hope your little woman or man brain stays under the glass ceiling. People that gullible don’t deserve to be running things anyways. As far as the workplace goes, I don;t believe there should be different roles for men and women. The workplace is for workers. No one’s abilities should be judged on sex, but rather aptitude and the physical qualifications it takes to get a job done. I knew a deaf bartender once. She could read anyone’s lips and make anything they wanted without a problem or a hearing aid. Even though she was just doing her job, it impressed tons of tips out of people.

Bare Minerals

- Author: Greg Jana's Approval

I never liked to wear make up when I was younger. The only time I put on make up in high school was for dance or cheerleading, or when I as in a play and I had to wear stage make up. My mom got this new makeup when I was seventeen called Bare Minerals, and she had me try some of. It’s supposed to be made from the earth completely with nothing in it that is artificial or bad for you. I really liked it, cause it didn’t feel like there was goo all over my face. That was the main reason I didn’t like make up was because it felt like there was lotion on my face and I couldn’t touch it or I’d mess it up or get it on me. She got me some of my own and I really started to like it and play around with it. It never feels like there’s stuff on my skin, and it doesn’t clog your pores or make you break out at all. I wear contacts, so a lot of different eye liners bother my eyes. I tried the Bare Minerals one out and never had a problem. Even when I get it into my eyes I can only see it in there, I never feel it and it doesn’t burn like most others. You can even sleep in it without problem. Most makeup gets cakey and feels gross, but there have been several times when I just go to sleep with it on and have no problems with my skin. They have tons of different shades and colors of eyeshadows, and just a lot of fun things to play with. It’s easy to apply, so good for a beginner, and I don’t think I would ever wear anything else!

Mammograms are a waste of money? No.

- Author: Greg Health

It’s always been said that women should begin getting their mammograms once they are forty and make sure that they are getting them once a year. By doing this, women are able to have the screenings help in detecting abnormalities and catch if anything is wrong before it might be too late. I can assume that this screening costs a bit of money, but I don’t think that really matters when it comes to saving someone’s life. This standard has been set for years by doctors and professionals all around. So, the sudden change of heart from experts saying that women should wait until they are 50 is surprising. These “experts” are claiming at not enough lives are saved by requiring the mammogram, so we shouldn’t deal with them. Do you think the women out there who got their tests done when they were 40 and found cancer agree? How can someone say that a few lives saved aren’t enough? It’s just people being stingy with money, as usual. Women who get the tests and face the common false-positive screening end up costing their insurance a lot of money in other screenings, biopsies, etc., and they don’t want to “waste their money” anymore. Ugh, people are sick. I guess some lives just aren’t worth that much when saving money comes into the picture.

Purse = Lifeline

- Author: Greg Women

A woman’s purse is her lifeline. It has everything in it that she could ever need. My mom’s purse it more advanced than mine, she always has toothpicks, salt and pepper, pain meds, the whole deal. Mine has a lot of crap in it though that I NEED. Men don’t really understand this. But, knowing that all this stuff is in here, why do most of us women deem it necessary to also carry a bottle of water in there, with all of our precious things? Who knows. Several of my friends have had problems with this, ruining cell phones, cameras, social security cards, you name it. But, today a friend of mine went to Best Buy to get her lap top checked out. She didn’t feel safe keeping it in her car while she was at work, so she put it in her purse and took it inside to keep it safe. Safe from the thieves, sure, but not safe from what was hiding in her purse with it. At the end of the day, she picked up the purse and realized that it was totally wet. The lap top was dripping water out. This is the most devastating story I have heard of a water bottle in the purse. I don’t even know how I would react, other than to sit on the ground and cry. Right now, it’s leaned up against the wall still trying to drip dry all the water out. Painful for me to even think about. I think I might start carrying my liquids, and keeping my dry electronics out of harms way from now on.
