Prosecutors say mom should get 3 years for 13 year old’s suicide

- Author: Greg General News

What kind of mother sets an example like this for her 13 year old daughter? I wonder how she would feel if it was someone else who caused her daughter to kill herself. Hmmm.

A Missouri mother should serve three years in prison for her role in a MySpace hoax on a 13-year-old neighbor who committed suicide, federal prosecutors said in court documents filed Wednesday.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Krause outlined the government’s position while requesting the maximum sentence for Lori Drew. Probation officials have recommended Drew receive a year of probation and a $5,000 fine.

Krause argued that Drew “coldly conceived of a scheme to humiliate” Megan Meier, a neighbor in a St. Louis suburb, by helping create a fictitious teenage boy on the social networking site and sending flirtatious messages in his name to the girl.

The fake boy then dumped Megan in a message saying the world would be better without her. She hanged herself a short time later.

Drew used her then-13-year-old daughter and a business assistant in the scheme, which played on Megan’s insecurities, Krause said.

“Both the callousness of defendant’s criminal conduct and the extraordinary harm it caused mandate a sentence of more than probation,” Krause wrote.

Convicted of three counts
Drew was convicted in November of three counts of accessing computers without authorization. Besides up to three years in prison, she could face a $300,000 fine at sentencing set for May 18.

Drew’s attorney, Dean Steward, has asked U.S. District Court Judge George Wu to throw out the verdicts.

Steward said his client couldn’t afford the $5,000 fine recommended by probation officials because she no longer draws income from the coupon book business she had for nine years.

During the trial, prosecutors argued that Drew violated MySpace rules by setting up the phony profile for a boy named “Josh Evans.” Jurors decided Drew was not guilty of the more serious felonies of intentionally causing emotional harm while accessing computers without authorization.

The jury could not reach an unanimous verdict on a felony conspiracy charge.

Drew was not directly charged with causing Megan’s death.

Car Warranty Phone Call Scam

- Author: Greg General

Ok, I’m not the only I know that gets these annoying phone calls. It’s a computer generated voice that says you car warranty is “about to expire”. I get these calls, literally, 4-6 every day, 7 days a week. I get them on my cell phone which just pisses me off because I get charged for using up those minutes to answer a scam phone call and say “hello” 6 times before their machine actually starts with the recording. These scammers need to be caught and taught a lesson. For anyone reading this, go to the National DO NOT CALL Registry and register your number to stop these damn calls for good.

Texas Couple Kills A 7 Year Old Boy For Trespassing

- Author: Greg Strange News

Are you fucking kidding me? Look at these inbred hillbillies. My God, they shot an innocent family and killed a 7 year old boy. The family was out off roading and these wackos shot them because they thought they were trespassing. Who the hell shoots little kids? I hope the D.A. upgrades the charges to first degree murder for both of these freaks. It would be nice to see these two strapped to chairs and left in a room alone with the father of these kids. If it were me, I’d beat them until their faces were mush. Just looking at these people makes me sick to my stomach and I hope they burn in hell. See the story below.

Gale and Sheila Muhs - Murderers of a 7 year old boy

Gale and Sheila Muhs - Murderers of a 7 year old boy

HOUSTON (May 9) – A 7-year-old boy who was allegedly shot in the head by a couple who thought he and three other people were trespassing on their property died Saturday, authorities said.
Donald Coffey Jr. died Saturday morning at a Houston hospital, less than two days after the boy was struck in the head by shotgun pellets, Liberty County Sheriff’s Cpl. Hugh Bishop said.
Sheila Muhs and her husband, Gayle Muhs, both 45, were charged with second-degree felony counts of aggravated assault in the shootings Thursday. They were being held at Liberty County Jail with bail set at $25,000 each and had not yet retained an attorney, Bishop said.
Bishop said the district attorney could upgrade the charges to murder on Monday, but investigators were “still trying to get the circumstances behind the incident.”
The boy, his 5-year-old sister, their father and a family friend were off-roading near a residential area about 40 miles northeast of Houston when they were shot after stopping so the children could go to the bathroom.
Authorities said the couple fired after they mistakenly thought the group was trespassing on their property.
Bishop said the area includes a dirt road, trees and overgrown brush and that it wasn’t uncommon for people to go off-roading there. The Houston Chronicle reported that a sign in front of the suspects’ home reads: “Trespassers will be shot. Survivers will be reshot!! Smile I will.”
Liberty County Chief Deputy Ken DeFoor said Sheila Muhs fired a 12-gauge shotgun once, then handed it to her husband, who also fired once.
DeFoor said Sheila Muhs then called 911 and told the dispatcher: “They’re out here tearing up the levee, so I shot them.”
DeFoor said the levee belonged to the subdivision and was not private property.
Bishop said there was no indication the unarmed victims did anything threatening toward the Muhs.
Donald Coffey Sr. suffered a pellet wound in his right shoulder and his daughter, Destiny, suffered a wound to the elbow. The family friend, 30-year-old Patrick Cammack, was in serious condition Saturday with a head wound, Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center spokeswoman Alex Rodriguez said.

Search Engine Optimization Tips – SEO Tips – SEO Specialists

- Author: Greg Search Engine Optimization

I do SEO for a living and I have come across some SEO methods that are good and others that are bad. I’d like to give some SEO tips on doing your own search engine optimization if you can’t afford to have  SEO specialists like me do it for you.

Tip #1: Other SEO companies say that your meta tags DO NOT matter. Well let me tell you something, they DO matter very much. The SEO companies tell you this because they don’t want you to learn how to do it yourself and take money from them. Always make sure you have your “Title”, “Description”, and “Keyword” tags filled out with your keywords, but make sure not to make it sound spammy.

Tip#2: Use an <h1> tag towards the top of your page and make sure it contains you main keywords. This is very important when it comes to optimizing your page for the best possible SEO results.

Tip #3: Name your images after your keywords and give them  alt tags. Example: <img src=”images/your-keyword.jpg” alt=”Your Keyword”>. This will help immensely in your SEO campaign and many SEO companies will NOT tell you this when they are having you optimize your page and design for optimal search engine optimization.

Tip# 4: Make sure your content is fresh. Update it often. If you don’t update it but once a month, then find an RSS feed on the same subject and implement it into your page. This will produce a constant feed of new and fresh content, although it’s not as good as having your own unique content, it will still help with your search engine optimization.

Tip #5: Try to have your content on the left hand side of your page. Search engines read from the left to the right just like we do and they will read that first. If you have a navigation menu that is all images, then that’s what will be seen or crawled first. If that’s what you want, then that’s fine, but make sure your nav menu contains your keywords in the alt tags and keywords for image names as well.
This is all the SEO tips I have for today. Check back later and I will have some more. If you want to hire me to do SEO for you, send an email to gsmitherman@mac.com with “SEO” as the subject.

Search Engine Optimization Software

- Author: Greg Search Engine Optimization

Ok, I’ve been doing search engine optimization for about 5 years and I am very very good at it. I don’t charge what other SEO companies charge. They charge in excess of $20k per month and they DON’T guarantee top positions. In my opinion this is BULLSHIT. Excuse my french, but how can you charge someone that kind of money and not guarantee any top positions. I charge half that with a guarantee and have achieved it 100% of the time. That means I have NEVER, not met my goals. (Double negative, I know). Anyway, I was doing research for a client a couple months ago and I came across this SEO software that automates a lot of the SEO work.

I downloaded SEO Elite and decided to give it a try. I didn’t want to post anything about it until I had actually tested it and made sure it worked and was worth the money. I would hate to endorse something without first trying it myself. Well the results were amazing. Within weeks I had my client to #8 on Google for a very competitive search term. Now I can’t disclose this because I sign confidentiality agreements with all clients. There are 64,000,000 results for that “one word” search term. My client as of the posting of this, is at #1 and is getting an average of 40k unique visitors per day, from Google alone. That does not include traffic he gets from Yahoo or MSN or other sites that link to him.

I’m not saying that all results will be like this, I mean, this is what I do for a living and have been doing it for a while. If you are a newbie, you will still have awesome results but chances are, if you and I were competing for the same terms, I would kick your ass lol. All joking aside, it is totally worth taking a look at and they also have a money back guarantee. If you don’t like it, you get a 100% refund. Now, personally, I could care less if you check it out or not. If not, you just make my job easier when I have a client that needs to do SEO for the same terms as you, BUT, if you don’t want to pay someone like me $5k -$10k a month for SEO, the this is a great tool to have.  Here is the link again if you want to check it out. Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death 3 Rings Fix

- Author: Greg Xbox 360

Has your XBOX 360 died with the Red Ring of Death? Would you like to play your XBOX 360 again?  Well now you can!

I’ve found a guide online that makes it easy to fix your Xbox 360. The step by step guide also comes with videos, so it’s virtually idiot proof.

You could be playing your games again in less than an hour!  Or you could just repair your XBOX 360 and sell it on eBay for some extra cash. If You’re interested in learning how to repair your own XBOX 360,  just click on the image above.

I have done this and fixed my own Xbox 360. Now I’m placing ads on CraigsList and charging other people to fix their 360’s. This is good way to make some quick extra cash and also fix those damn problems.

Guy finds a snake head in his broccoli. Yummy!

- Author: Greg Strange News

Dont think I’ll be eating at TGI Friday’s anytime soon.

A diner at a restaurant in upstate New York says he got a little something extra with his broccoli — a severed snake head.

Jack Pendleton told The Times Union of Albany that he was at the T.G.I. Friday’s restaurant in the town of Clifton Park on Sunday when he spotted something gray mixed in with his vegetables. He realized it was a snake head the size of his thumb, with part of the spine still attached.
“I start to turn it over. I see this gray-green patch,” he told The Times Union.
“I could see these black, rotted eye sockets on the top,” he added. He said the head had part of spine attached.
“I stopped eating,” he said in The Times Union. “I told my girlfriend, ‘I think this is a head.’”
Pendleton says he snapped a photo with his cell phone camera and called the waiter over. He says he has no plans to sue.
A spokeswoman for the Carrollton, Texas, chain says it’s investigating. It wasn’t immediately known what kind of snake it was.
Pendleton and his girlfriend weren’t charged for their meals.

Face Transplant Patient Interview

- Author: Greg Strange News
Thumbnail image for Face Transplant Patient Interview

He shot her in the face, leaving her so horrifically disfigured that Connie Culp later received the nation’s first face transplant. But she forgives her husband for what he did.

“I forgave him the day he did it. I had to,” Connie Culp said Friday in an interview on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America.’
Thomas Culp was sentenced to seven years in prison for the 2004 shooting. Connie was sentenced to something much worse.

Skip over this content

The blast shattered her nose, cheeks, the roof of her mouth and an eye. She underwent nearly 30 operations but was still unable to smell or eat solid foods. She needed a tracheotomy in order to breathe.
Culp came forward this week at a news conference at the Cleveland Clinic, where doctors in December replaced 80% of her face with bone, muscles, nerves, skin and blood vessels from a woman who had died.
Culp knows nothing about the donor except that they were about the same age and height. She feels a huge debt of gratitude to the donor’s family.
“I just want to thank them and tell them I love them for being so thoughtful,” she said.
Culp said she realized the transplant had worked when she first smelled soap.
“I actually smelled my face soap and I realized then I could smell my mouthwash,” she told ABC’s Diane Sawyer.
The 46-year-old Unionport, Ohio, woman said that after the marathon surgery, the first thing she saw was “my eye outline. I saw my hair. I saw my nose. But the nose looked good from what I could see and my daughter said I looked great.”
Now she is adjusting to that nose — and remembering what to do when it tickles.
“A real funny experience was the first time I sneezed,” she said. “I didn’t know what to cover up!”

She bears no animosity to the husband whose botched murder-suicide attempt brought her so much pain.
“He’s told me that he’s sorry,” Culp said. “I still love my husband.”
But she said women should know that if they are in a physically or even verbally abusive relationship, they are in real danger. “If your husband threatens you in any way, it’s going to get worse.” she said.
Culp said it now seems strange to remember how, before the shooting, she used to worry about her appearance.
“I was worried about my weight and everything. I’m like, that is so foolish. It doesn’t matter what you look like.”
Before the transplant, she would become upset when small children ran from her. One little girl called her “a monster.” Now, she said she is happy to walk down the street.
“I want to be positive. I want to move on.” she said. “Everything’s going to be great from here on out.”

Weight loss

- Author: Greg Weight Loss

Weight loss

Your weight is a balancing act and calories are part of that equation. Fad diets may promise you that counting carbs or eating a mountain of grapefruit will make the pounds drop off. But when it comes to weight loss, it’s calories that count. Weight loss comes down to reducing extra calories from food and beverages and increasing calories burned through physical activity.

Once you understand that equation, you’re ready to set your weight-loss goals and make a plan for reaching them. Remember, you don’t have to do it alone. Talk to your doctor, family and friends for support. Also, plan smart: Anticipate how you’ll handle situations that challenge your resolve and the inevitable minor setbacks.

If you have serious health problems because of your weight, your doctor may suggest weight-loss surgery or medications for you. In this case, you and your doctor will need to thoroughly discuss the potential benefits and the possible risks.

But don’t forget the bottom line: The key to successful weight loss is a commitment to making permanent changes in your diet and exercise habits.
