I have always had a small fear of heights. When I was a cheerleader this was something I had to overcome because I was the flyer, but I was never really that high off the ground. I got over it then, but when I was 16 I had a fly in an air plane for the first time. It was a scare situation because I had never done it and I had to go alone. It was probably the worst first flight anyone has ever had, because the idiot lady wrote down the wrong gate number in the Houston Air Port and I was waiting at that gate when I heard my name announced over the loud speaker. I was already so scared, and since I was a minor they weren’t aloud to leave without me on the plane because I had been checked in at the air port by my mom. So, they started repeating my name and told me what gate to go to, and when I got there the plane had already moved and had to move back to come get me and I had to step in it with a big space in between. I didn’t have time to calm down before it took off, and that flight wasn’t good at all. I’ve flown a few times since then, the worst being out of Denver to New Mexico on a transfer flight from Vegas. They told us before we took off that it would be like a roller coaster and that we weren’t aloud to ever get out of our seats. It was the worst flight I had been on, and knowing that it can get hat bad and still be normal made me realize that they know what they are doing and I shouldn’t be scared anymore. Being on a flight that bad and still making it home has cured my fear of flights.
