Aliens
This is kind of farfetched, but I’m kinda starting to believe that aliens are really just humans from the future who have developed means to time travel. Think about it. Your typical big-headed, bulgy-eyed, frail-bodied, little, green alien appears to be built in just the direction we are headed. With humans growing smarter and smarter as the years progress and intelligence equaling power now more than ever, it’s no surprise that we will eventually evolve bigger heads to accommodate and ever expanding vault of intelligence. There is already skeletal evidence that suggests that human’s heads are evolving to be larger. The average newborn’s skull does not fit through the average woman’s pelvic girdle without ripping, tearing and some breaking of the pelvis. This is not so for other animals. Other species have a much easier time giving birth than we humans do. It also makes sense for use to adapt to being bombarded by information by evolving larger, more complex eyes. With weather reports, news tickers, live footage and an anchor person all piled onto any news broadcast at one time, it would be nice to be better able to absorb it all. And since we are becoming more reliant on computers and machines, our bodies are not as useful as they once were for survival. AS far as the green skin goes, well that’s just Hollywood putting an interesting spin on things. Unless of course using nanotechnology, we are one day able to infuse ourselves with the means to photosynthesis and gain nutrients from the sun. That might make the green skin a reality.

Food
One of the best parts about cold weather are all the foods that you can make. There are a lot of foods and meals that just don’t work in certain types of weather, and when it gets cold I start to crave them. I love beans and corn bread, but when the weather outside is 90 degree it doesn’t sound too great to just sit around and eat a hot bowl of beans and then go outside in the blistering sun. But, when it cold, it feels good to come in and fill your belly up with something really warm and filling. Tonight, I think I am going to make Stew. Stews are great to make when it is cold, because it makes a bunch of food and you usually don’t have to worry about cooking the next night or going to the grocery store to get something else to make in the cold. And, just the fact that it takes several hours to cook on the stove, it’s warm in the kitchen and is nice to be in there when you’re cooking. It’s completely understandable that people would be gaining weight during the colder seasons because of all the more filling food, and it’s just a good feeling when you’re cold to be full and then just sit around and not work out. I think I better get a work out in before eating my six servings of stew for dinner tonight!

Sleep
Waking up early isn’t fun, especially if the sun has yet to come out and the world outside your bed is cold and dark. No one looks forward to those first cold steps on a hard floor, blinding light bulbs and a puffy, sleepy reflection. As much as it sucks to be woken up by a nagging beep or perky, morning show idiot, after showering and getting dressed, it feels good to be up early. Waking up before you absolutely have to gives you a head start on the day. You can usually stay ahead of problems by having a little extra time in the morning. For one, your not rushing around knocking things over and forgetting your stuff while you rush out the door. You also have time to fill up your tank before work if it’s on empty like mine usually is. My gas light tends to only be on when I’m running late and rushing around like crazy. Plus, being awake early gives you a little more time to spend in the world before you have to deal with traffic, idiots, work, or school. You have more time to get a grip on yourself, and be more deliberate about your day. You can make sure you have what you need and look decent. You know it’s not gonna be a good day when you don’t have time to shower, your makeup or facial hair look like you just came from the bar, and you have to dig out your spare keys to get into your car. An old Indian man told me that the key to good health and a long life is waking up with the sun every day. I buy that. Everyday id kinda pushing it, but most days I at least make an effort to wake up before I have too.
